From Nashville, Mike "Cookie" Jones. Mike is a very accomplished player who is best well known for his career as the steel player for Barbara Mandrell.

We would like to mention that our own lead player,
Iowan native Roger Miller has achieved the position of lead guitarist
at the 2009 International Steel Guitar Show in St Louis! This is a very prestigious
position of being part of the incredible house band that accompanies
the world's most predominant steel players (like Buddy Emmons, etc.) at the Super Bowl
of steel guitar shows. We're all proud of you, Roger.
In memory of Phil Coontz: Phil quickly became a welcome part of the Dairy State Steel Show family this year, and we are saddened to learn of his passing. A performer in Branson, MO, with Moe Bandy in 1991, he was the steel player behind Johnny Lee, Mel Tillis, and many others. We wish comfort to Phil's family and remember Phil for his excellent playing and professionalism.
In memory of our friend, Jerry Dube. Jerry fought a hard battle over the past several months with cancer,
but all during this duration we grew closer to him as not only a fellow steel player, but a true,
genuine friend and a member of our steel guitar family. He will be missed, but his wife Gail,
and son Jerome (a steel player) and the rest of his relation will continue to be welcome guests to our show.
